BRF Thailand Energy Conservation

BRF Thailand realized that energy consumption in food industry is increasing day by day, where as we have limited resources available on earth.

With concern to energy saving, BRF Thailand in cooperation with Department of Industrial Engineering of King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) studied about to use Clean Technologies (CT) in primary production process at BRF Thailand Slaughtering Plant 1, Phathumthani province to reduce natural resources consumption especially water supply in order to reserve it for its expansion of production in future.

What is Clean Technology?

Clean technology (clean tech) is a general term used to describe products, processes or services that reduce waste and require as few non-renewable resources as possible.

Concept of Clean Technology is a management focused on energy consumption reduction in order to save energy, protect environment and healthcare.

CT consists of key factors – 3R’s:

  • Reduce
  • Reuse
  • Recycle

Why do we need to use Clean Technology?

Clean Technologies are technologies that use energy, water, raw materials and other inputs more efficiently and productively as much as possible.

Not only it can help to protect world environment by reducing usage of energy like water supply, electric power, bunker oil C and  chemical solutions in production process, but it also helps to improve company profitability, through cost of production reduction and/or increased revenues as well as capability of production enhancement.

That is why we need to use Clean Technology as a tool to conserve energy from natural resourses.
